Special Grilled Squid

Girlled dishes are best for any occasions. One can prepare grilled foods over a bottle of beer in a pool party with his closest friends, some would definitely cook this up for dinner or perhaps something to feast on during spectacular celebratins at home. This grilled dish we have here is one of the most common. But, this one is different from the others because of its marinating technique. Here’s Grilled Squid

Ingredients:

1 kilo squid, washed and chopped in halves
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce and 2 tsps. butter
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2  minced garlic cloves
1/2 tablespoon minced ginger
ground pepper
salt and ketchup

Procedure:

1. First thing first, wash and clean the squid well. Be sure to take out everything from the inside of the squid. Afterwards, take out the black ink, the skin and the film .

2. For the  marinade, mix all the ingredients (except for the squid) in a separate bowl. Add more butter if you like. The butter will intensify the taste and also balance out the sweetess and saltness of the squid.

3. Some would like to prefer the garlic taste ove-powering the others, so if you have spare garlic cloves, you can add more. You can also buy powdery garlic in the market and pinch some of it in the squid while it is laid in the griller.

4. Marinate the squid for  an hour. Place it insid ethe refrigerator.

5. Grill the squid. It is best not to let the squid burn or be toasted. Letting the squid rest for a long time in the griller may cause the rubbery effect when one is eating it. You should give 3-4 minutes on each side only.

6. Do not throw the marinate away. Heat it up for the sauce.

7. Serve the dish with steamed vegetables on the side. It’s also recommended to steam half a kilo of cauliflower and brush it with butter.
